It will sound strange to you but the tradition of the eggs in majolica in the town of Deruta is not related to the Catholic Easter; in fact, if you see some of the most famous paintings of the Italian Renaissance, very often the Madonna, like in the following detail of the Piero Della Francesca's masterpiece, is surmounted by an egg, symbol of purity, renaissance and perfection since the Medieval times, .
